Film Description

Leontes fears his wife Hermione is guilty of adultery with his friend Polixenes, King of Bohemia. He sends his wife to prison and tries to kill Polixenes, setting in motion a train of tragic consequences. A stylised production of one of Shakespeare's most haunting and enigmatic late plays. An excellent production highlights the tragic intensity and comic grace of the play.
