The Manchurian Candidate (2004)
Film Description Emphatically not the travesty that many feared, Jonathan Demme’s re-make of the Sinatra brainwashing classic transposes the action from the Korean to the Gulf war. The film is very well-cast, with Meryl Streep excelling in the old Angela Lansbury role as the terrifyingly ambitious mother willing to sacrifice her son’s sanity for political gain.
