Film Description

On an ordinary school day, Leland, a seemingly ordinary student, commits an inexplicable crime. Family, friends and teachers try to get to the heart of his act but it remains a mystery. In juvenile detention however, he opens up to Pearl, who sees Leland's story as the subject for a novel. Each starts to question the other and Pearl has the opportunity to learn from Leland's insights. An examination of the moral dilemmas at the heart of violence in American society.
