Review by Barry Forshaw on 5th May 2005 The multitalented Geoffrey Rush does not attempt here to simply impersonate the troubled comic actor Peter Sellers (although there is no question that he can deliver the goods when necessary); rather, this is a rounded and insightful study of a man whose remarkable abilities were matched by massive self-indulgence and insecurity (along with a gullible acceptance of mystical nonsense). Rush is surrounded by an equally talented supporting cast, notably Miriam Margolyes as Sellers’ possessive mother Peg (who bears the same relationship to her son as Mrs Bates did to Norman).
