Film Description

The complete first series featuring 'the Old Bailey hack' Rumpole, played by Leo McKern in his best-known role. The portly Rumpole refuses to prosecute in the cases he accepts – he will only defend clients. Although the tone of much of the series is comic, the courtroom scenes are often as gripping as any thriller.
