Review by David Tallerman on 26th February 2004

Miyazaki’s second film for Studio Ghibli remains perhaps his finest work, and one of the greatest animated features ever made. A homage to nineteenth century science-fiction authors like Jules Verne, the story revolves around two children’s quest to find the legendary floating city
of Laputa, all the while pursued by sinister government agents, an insane family of airship-dwelling pirates and their terrifying matriarch. A genuinely wonderful adventure, Castle in the Sky benefits from another excellent dub by US distributor Miramax, featuring the
voices of James van der Beek and oscar-winner Anna Paquin.
