Film Description

An ambitious and knotty tale of espionage set in a dilapidated psychiatric hospital. A down at heel doctor is offered a substantial sum of money by the US military to shelter a new patient. Soon the beds are full of spies all with an interest in him. A real treat for Clouzot fans.

A very welcome DVD issue for Clouzot's rarely seen comic thriller, graced with a very eclectic cast, including Curd Jurgens and Peter Ustinov (as well as the director's wife, Vera, so memorable in Les Diaboliques). Not in the class of Clouzot's great movies, but great to finally track down.
