Brilliant film, brilliant play - she wrote a book of short stories called "Sweetly Sings the Donkey" (1963) - well worth a look.

I agree that time has affected this film far less than it has other "free cinema" classics. I suppose this says a lot for the script, not that I'm suggesting it is timeless - rather, perhaps, that it was well ahead of it's time. < less
