Film Description

After being disfigured in a fire a mad sculptor hits on the idea of using corpses covered in wax for his new exhibition, and with his barbaric methods kept secret, enjoys critical acclaim and commercial success. However, his work is disturbed by the investigations of a young woman who is determined to find out the whereabouts of her missing friend. Charles Bronson is the sculptor's faithful servant, Igor. The film is a remake of the 1933 two-strip Technicolour film The Mystery of the Wax Museum starring Fay Wray, and that is also available on this DVD.

If you want to see the film that inspired the indifferent remake of this classic chiller, here's your chance. Of course, the bodycount (and amount of bloodshed) may be more copious in the new film, but it signally lacks the one element that makes this one so enjoyable: the one and only Vincent Price, delivering his lines in that memorable timbre that was his alone.
