Film Description Aka Wedding in Blood. One of Chabrol's best films, in which small-town mayor's assistant Pierre is having an affair with the mayor's wife. When Pierre's wife suddenly dies in an apparent suicide, town gossips believe there is more to it than meets the eye. In the meantime, the mayor is looking for Paul's support for a shady land deal. A tale of adultery and political skulduggery, originally banned due to similarities with a genuine murder case that shocked France.
