The Serpents Egg
Film Description The horrors of life are closing in on out-of-work American trapeze artist Abel Rosenberg in Berlin. The decadence of the Weimar period is recreated with masterful sets. Though Nykvist's cinematography is as atmospheric as ever and the final half hour is stunning, Bergman thought the film disappointing and it is seen as a bit of a misfire.
