Film Description

A dystopian vision of post-apocalyptic 23rd century America, in which everyone who reaches 30 years of age must die to help preserve limited resources. Anyone wishing to escape the City of Domes to avoid their destiny is dubbed a 'runner' and hunted down by futuristic police known as Sandmen. Michael York plays the part of the Sandman Logan, the movie's central character. Forced to go on the run to track down a group of runners who have set up Sanctuary outside the City of Domes, Logan's own life clock is extended past 30 years of age. Now a fugitive charged with a do or die mission and with Francis (Richard Jordan), another Sandman in pursuit, Logan enlists Jessica (Jenny Agutter) as his fugitive companion and together they try to make it to the supposed safe haven, Sanctuary.
