The Colour Of Paradise

Majid Majidi, 1999

Film Description

Beautifully filmed in northern Iran, this is an intensely moving fable of a child's innocence as well as a complex look at faith and humanity. Telling the story of a blind boy who is apprenticed to a carpenter, it chronicles his struggle to make sense of a world in which he feels unclaimed and unwanted. A simple but powerful tale in which the landscape mirrors the feelings of the characters.
