Film Description

Zhang Yimou's Chinese black comedy based on the 1984 Coen brothers film 'Blood Simple'.

Noodle shop owner Wang is a lazy, mean-spirited man who treats his young wife with contempt. Sick of his bullying ways, his wife buys a gun from a travelling merchant and asks her lover to shoot her husband with it. Unknown to her however, the husband has already recruited a contract killer to murder both her and her lover - but to confuse matters even further the hitman turns out to have a homicidal agenda of his own.
