Film Description

A British comedy drama set in the 1950s, We Think the World of You stars Gary Oldman and Alan Bates as friends and ex-lovers.

When Johnny (Oldman) is sent to jail, he has no choice but to leave his cherished Alsatian, Evie, in the care of his parents and his friend and ex-lover, Frank (Bates). Frank soon becomes very attached to the dog and when he grows concerned about Johnny's parents' mistreatment of Evie, he endeavours to become her sole carer, finding that his affection for the dog is stronger than that for his former partner. As he cares with increasing desperation, his war of nerves with Johnny's wife intensifies. Both funny and touching, We Think the World of You carefully preserves the stifling discretion of the era.
