Rivette mirrors the form and structure of the play triumphantly in telling the real life of the performers . Va Savoir bubbles with life and just gets better and better as the film goes on. The six principals come together, interact, get entangled and unentangled, find love and lost plays, lose and win in myriad ways. It's two and a half hours but when it ends you really want to watch it again, right away, from the beginning. Jeanne Balibar is particularly wonderful.
