Here is a rich assortment of the studio's output from its final years (1965-76) as a force in the British film industry. It is also a fascinating journey through trends in the popular lowbrow cinema of the period. From the gung-ho Saturday matinee adventures of the mid-sixties (She, Vengeance of She, Rasputin the Mad Monk), through genuinely unnerving offbeat horror oddities such as Plague of the Zombies and The Reptile, to the more adult-oriented psychodramas of the seventies (Demons of the Mind, To the Devil a Daughter), there is something here for every Hammer aficionado. And for those who like their monsters served more traditionally, Dracula (Christopher Lee) and Frankenstein (Peter Cushing) make enough appearances to satisfy even the most bloodthirsty appetite.
