Film Description

Edgar Ulmer's B-movie revamp of Zorro, The Pirates of Capri sees Captain Sirocco (Louis Hayward) do battle with a wicked Baron (Massimo Serato) in 18th century Naples.

After a swashbuckling opening, the film gracefully follows the romance of Sirocco and the Countess de Lopez, and their feud with the villanous Baron von Holstein. Edgar G. Ulmer’s skill as a director of action is evident throughout, and Hayward clearly relishes his role as a masked action hero hiding behind the persona of a hankie-fluttering dandy.
