Film Description

Based on the book by Brian Moore, the film tells the story of Judith Hearne (an unforgettable Maggie Smith), a middle-aged spinster who earns a living by giving piano lessons in 1950s Dublin. When she falls for her landlady's brother, newly returned from America, dare she let herself hope that she is not too late for love? Bob Hoskins plays the sleazy con-man she falls for.
