Film Description

Zombies, spiders, demons and werewolves loom large in this collection of four gory horror films from the Fantastic Factory, containing Faust: Love of the Damned (Yuzna, 2000), Arachnid (Sholder, 2001), Beyond Re-Animator (Yuzna, 2003) and Romasanta: The Werewolf Hunt (Plaza, 2004).

In 'Beyond Re-Animator', Dr Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs) is serving a prison sentence for the Miskatonic University Massacre 14 years ago. West continues with his experiments on bringing back the dead on rats in his cell. However, these experiments are interrupted by the arrival of Howard Phillips (Jason Barry), the new prison doctor and brother of the girl who suffered from West's experiments 13 years ago.

In 'Faust', John Jaspers (Mark Frost) vows that he will do everything he can to exact his revenge after his girlfriend is brutally murdered. So when a mysterious cult leader (Andrew Divoff) offers him the power he needs in exchange for his immortal soul, John eagerly accepts. But the young man's newfound strength is too much for him, and he finds himself overtaken by an unquenchable thirst for murder - a desire so great that it is unsatisfied with the deaths of a few criminals and begins to run rampant in the world at large.

In 'Arachnid', a scientific expedition arrives on a remote South Pacific island to investigate a series of deaths caused by the bite of an unknown species of spider. The research team soon find themselves in grave danger, and begin fighting a running battle with the very thing they had come to the island to study. And when they then discover the wreckage of crashed alien spaceship, they realise their problems are far worse than they had dared to imagine.

'Romasanta' is a period horror set in mid 19th-century Galicia. A terror is stalking the land: people are disappearing daily, their bodies appearing covered in savage gashes coupled with precise surgical cuts. The legend of the 'Werewolf of Allariz' spreads across the land like wildfire. When Barbara (Elsa Pataky) falls in love with travelling vendor Manuel Romasanta (Julian Sands), she is at first besotted with him - but soon begins to be suspicious of him, and wonders what has happened to her sister, who - after being escorted by Romasanta to the city - seems to have disappeared forever.
