Film DescriptionAn atmospheric melodrama with a strong cast set on the Isle of Skye in the early 1900s where young orphan girl Mary (Patricia Roc, at times resembling a young Jeanne Moreau) arrives to become a servant to the Macraes, a clan who are arch rivals with another island family, the McFarishes. However, meeting with little cheer at home, she becomes friendly with Will MacFarish (Andrew Crawford), provoking jealous rivalry to erupt between the feuding families. Finlay Currie, John Laurie, Duncan Macrae and Will Fyffe star and the film features some lovely location cinematography.
