This racy selection of films includes 'Oh Baby', 'A Fishy Story', 'Evolution of a Glamour Girl', 'Dark Exchange' and 'Cabbages and Kinks'. Filmed by bondage-flick pioneer Irving Klaw, this video also features Trudy Wayne, Chris La Chris, female impersonator Vickie Lynn, contortionist Twinnie Wallen, Cherry Knight and comics Dave Starr and Joe E. When (in one of their periodic awakenings from torpor) our moral guardians howl about the ever-more explicit presentation of sex in the cinema, it might be salutary to look at these two entertainingly naive films (Varietease and Tesaerama) from a much more innocent age. Although the titillation on view in these films (featuring cult striptease performer Bettie Page) is unlikely to ruffle any feathers these days, it should be remembered that these films earned cries of outrage and censorship fervour in their day.
