Film Description
Written by playwright Jack Rosenthal – one of Britain's best-loved and most consistently successful screenwriters - Sadie, It's Cold Outside is a wry and sympathetic comedy starring Rosemary Leach and Bernard Hepton as Sadie and Norman Potter, a world-weary middle-aged couple lamenting their lost dreams in an exhausting, increasingly hostile world. Contains the complete series.
Sadie's highest ambition as a youngster was to be a housewife. Having attained this relatively modest goal through marriage to Norman Potter (Bernard Hepton), she is surprised to learn that a life of cooking and cleaning isn't as fulfilling as she had expected. Norman, for his part, is equally disillusioned, having failed to attain - or, admittedly, to even attempt to attain - his rather more remote dreams of playing international test cricket or winning the Nobel Prize. Together the unhappy pair face up to a world that appears to offer them little in the way of consolation or sympathy.
