Availability Delivery Returns Policy
Film DescriptionAn engaging but unsettling documentary that traces the life of a chimpanzee - named 'Nim Chimpsky' - taken from its mother at birth and raised like a human child by a family in a brownstone on the upper West Side in the 1970 as part of a scientific project attempting to challenge Noam Chomsky's thesis that language is inherent only in humans. Following Nim's life as he interacts with his human hosts, the film charts the controversy surrounding the case, and the impact Nim had on those who worked with him.
