Film Description
The Pythons' classic satire on religion and Hollywood's depiction of all things biblical has a magic moment in just about every scene. It's set in the chaos and poverty of Judea 33 AD, where there are more messiahs than you can shake a stick at in the streets, and one of them of course is the reluctant Brian Cohen.

The Life Of Brian is a delightful, witty and in places, controversial comedy from the kings of surreal themselves, Monty Python. In 1979, the film caused uproar, but it has today attracted a vast cult fanbase. It tells the story of an ordinary Roman man, Brian, who, throughout his life, is unluckily mistaken for the Messiah. His group of friends find themself buying ossolots noses, writing ' Romans go home' in graffiti and naming themselves 'the people's front of Judea'. The climax of the film, when Brian is crucified, is turned from macabre to hilarious with the addition of the song 'always look on the bright side of life'. A last minute addition to the line up of the film, the song would be conspicuos in it's absence. It's sidesplitting lyrics finish the film with the sarcasm and irony that make it great.
