Based on the novel by Alberto Moravia. Engrossing, erotic and sometimes comic story of a restless philosophy professor with a midlife crisis who embarks on an affair with a young and far from intellectual girl. Winner of the Prix Louis Delluc in 1998.
Parisian philosophy lecturer Martin (Charles Berling) is fascinated when he witnesses a fight between the painter Meyers (Robert Kramer) and his 17-year-old model Cecilia (Sophie Guillemin). Days later, after Meyers passes away while making love to Cecilia, Martin himself begins a highly-charged affair with the young woman. Both excited and frustrated by her immediacy and simplistic attitude towards life, Martin's growing obsession begins to unbalance him, and the affair becomes increasingly deranged and dangerous.
