Film Description

Directed by one of Britain's most intriguing and experimental artists - Andrew Kötting, who is perhaps the only filmmaker currently practising who could be said to have taken to heart the spirit of visionary curiosity and hybrid creativity exemplified by the late Derek Jarman - Ivul tells the tale of Alex, whose expatriate Russian father Ivul banishes him from the house after being suspected of an incestuous relationship with his sister. Being to never to set foot on Ivul's land again, Alex interprets the order literally, taking to the treetops and living in a state of rebellious exile off the ground. Meanwhile, down below, affected profoundly by his absence, the rest of his family destroys itself from the inside out...
