Film DescriptionAnna Neagle plays the English lady who falls for an American air force sergeant in this WWII romantic drama directed by Herbert Wilcox. In love with army major David Bruce (Rex Harrison), Lady Patricia Fairfax (Neagle) soons finds herself falling for the charms of American flyer John Patterson (Dean Jagger) when he arrives at London's Grosvenor Square to spend some well-earned leave. After learning of Pat and David's long expectation of marriage, Patterson decides to do the decent thing and return to combat. His decision, however, soon brings events for all concerned to a tragic conclusion.
