Film DescriptionBased on a true story, Julia Roberts shines as a single mum who takes out a historic legal suit against a chemical plant. Albert Finney provides superb support as Erin’s gruff boss with a heart of gold. Soderbergh manages to sift out the cheese and really focus on the gritty realities of Erin’s situation and the wrong she is trying right in both her life (the prejudices suffered by a single mum in a short skirt) and the lives of the neighbourhood by the chemical plant (suffering from cancer due to the toxins in their water).
