Film Description

A drama set in and around a San Fernando Valley strip club, Dancing at the Blue Iguana follows the lives of five strippers over the course of a single week. Angel (Daryl Hannah), the star of the club, dreams of fostering a baby; Stormy (Sheila Kelley) is just beginning to realise that she may soon face a forced retirement; Jasmine (Sandra Oh) is a would-be poet; Jo (Jennifer Tilly) has just discovered that she is pregnant; and Jesse (Charlotte Ayanna) is a new recruit who still needs to learn a few lessons about the business. Directed by Michael Radford (White Mischief), the film's screenplay was based on a series of improvisational workshops in which the cast members helped develop their own characters.
