Film Description
Corruption and perversity seethe beneath the surface of Cul-de-Sac, in which a couple go to live on an isolated island and are visited by gangsters on the run. A great evocation of the absurd Polanski universe.
Wounded criminal Dickie (Lionel Stander) and his dying partner are on the run after an unsuccessful heist. They take refuge at a beachfront castle owned by George and Teresa (Donald Pleasence and Françoise Dorléac), who at first are unwilling hosts to the criminals.
Dickie has no difficulty dominating the weak-willed George and his compliant wife and holds them hostage in their own home as they wait for the arrival of the mysterious Mr. Kattlebach. Teresa proves more resourceful than her husband as they try to come up with a plan for escaping their captor.
