Film Description

Four films covering the seasons of the year made during 1941 and 1942. The films, starting with Winter on the Farm, cover the year's activities on a selection of British farms when there was pressure to maximize the yields from the land. There are Land Girls at work, and the increasing use of mechanisation is evident, although horses still hold their own.

The set continues with Spring on the Farm, Summer on the Farm, and culminates in the autumn harvest at the Crown of the Year.
