Film Description
The complete first and second series of Criminal Justice, featuring two cases, two murders and two people who must live with the actions and consequences of one night for the rest of their lives.
In Criminal Justice, starring Ben Whishaw, Pete Postlethwaite, Bill Paterson and Con O'Neill, 21-year-old Ben takes his father's black cab without permission and ends up in a police cell. What appears to be an evening of spontaneous fun with a sexy stranger culminates in a dead girl with Ben covered in her blood and holding the murder weapon. Despite the wealth of evidence against him and significant gaps in his memory, Ben is sure he did not kill the girl. He is about to discover what the criminal justice system does to someone in the wrong place at the wrong time..
In Season 2, Juliet Miller lives an outwardly comfortable life with her barrister husband Joe and 13 year-old daughter Ella. But Joe regularly subjects Juliet to sexual violence and one night she stabs him, calmly phoning the ambulance to say 'He's hurt' and walking away. The police, led by DCI Faber, investigate and initially believe Ella to be the attacker until Juliet arrives at the hospital in hysterics and is arrested. So begins her long journey to justice.
