This adaptation of Tennessee William's highly charged and steamy play is beautifull. Elizabeth Taylor's Maggie The Cat is constantly arguing with her husband Brick (Paul Newman). As the heat rises and the secrets and lies of the family are revealed, the viewers frustration rises, and so does the hatred for Sistawoman, Maggie's Selfish sister in law.The emotions are expressed beautifully, and are felt as strongly by the characters as the viewer... untill the films climax, and satisfying conclusion. It may not be a tearjerker like 'A Streetcar Named Desire' but it equals, if not excells it in terms of emotion and character diversity. With fantastic performances from Burl Ives, Taylor and Newman, this film is almost perfect. < less
