A character-driven crime drama series adapted from the novels 'Case Histories', 'One Good Turn' and 'When Will There Be Good News?' by Kate Atkinson. Jason Isaacs plays the protagonist, Jackson Brodie, a private detective troubled by events in his personal life. He investigates three mysterious cases involving family tragedies that appear to be unconnected - but all is not what it seems...

Each story is, first and foremost, an exploration and revelation of character structured by the unravelling of a crime mystery. Each two part story reflects the novel from which it is adapted, yet clearly belongs to a returnable series. The series has the ambition of the best jigsaw puzzles of Kate Atkinson's novels, aiming to delight both her established audience and a mainstream TV audience with her likeable and original characters.
