Film DescriptionBBC Scotland documentary in which actor Brian Cox reflects on his own past and the Dundee Jute industry with which his childhood was entwined. The Jute trade - the making of Hessian from the Indian fibre - was the major industry in Dundee when Cox was growing up. In this documentary, Cox explores the history of the Jute industry in the city and follows the fate of those Dundee citizens who decided to follow the Jute home to Calcutta to begin a new life.
