Film DescriptionGerman drama Beyond Silence stars Sylvie Testud (Lourdes) as Lara, the spirited daughter of two deaf-mute parents. Since early childhood, Lara has acted as a translator and mediator between her parents and the outside world. Now a young woman of 18, Lara is given a clarinet by her revered aunt, and learns to play with rapid success. As her passion for music grows, Lara finds herself forced to choose between music and the world of silence in which she has grown up.
