Film DescriptionConsistently voted one of the greatest films of all time and certainly one of the most exciting, this fictionalised account of the events of the 1905 Russian Revolution contains the celebrated sequence of the massacre on the Odessa steps. It's hard to imagine the impact of the cutting in this account of a sailors' mutiny. To the original audiences, it must have seemed like witnessing the birth pangs of cinema itself.
