Film DescriptionThis excellent BBC film is based on the best selling classic children’s novel by Noel Streatfield. Ballet Shoes is the story of the three Fossil sisters Pauline, Petrova and Posy, who live a sheltered life with their eccentric guardian, Gum (Richard Griffiths) in 1930s London until Gum mysteriously disappears and the money runs out. They are accepted into the Children’s Academy of Dancing and Stage Training and discover their special talents and begin to make a contribution to the household finances.
