Film Description

A tender and tragic love story of two women, set against the backdrop of the fall-out from the 1956 Hungarian uprising. Jadwiga Jankowska-Cieslak was awarded the Best Actress accolade at the 1982 Cannes festival for her poised, sparkling and trenchant study in nonconformity. Read by western audiences for its sexual politics, Another Way can also be viewed in the context of the 70s thaw which led to the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
