Film Description

Drama set in the 19th century, in which Amy Foster (Rachel Weisz) is an outcast, spurned by her own family and accused of being a witch by everyone else in her village. She is also blamed for the storm which caused a shipwreck in which only one man survived, the Russian emigre Yanko. He immediately falls for Amy - but their love for each other causes controversy among the small-minded villagers who are determined to put an end to their happiness.
