Film Description

A 'WWII psycho-drama' focussing on male anxiety and sexual identity, During One Night sees Don Borisenko play an Air Force Captain who is part of a crew flying on their 24th mission - leaving only another before their tour of duty ends. Then one of their number to whom he is close is badly injured during a flight, and an emotional bedside description of the injury, and his flying companion's later suicide sees the Captain go temporarily AWOL with a view to losing his virginity before his own number comes up. During the night that follows, he tries to prove himself with three women in succession: a prostitute, a sexual hustler and finally the innocent Jean (Susan Hampshire, in her first screen role).
