It is absolutely fascinating to dip into this early black-and-white period of the cult TV series before it moved firmly into the tongue-in-cheek phase for which it is best known. Apart from Patrick MacNee's saturnine John Steed, the real interest here is, of course, Honor Blackman's iconic Cathy Gale, brandishing her skintight leather suits and martial arts skills. In fact those leather suits are less in evidence than one might suspect, but aficionados of classic British TV need not hesitate. < less
