Film Description

Hapless Private Alvin Corwin (Jerry Lewis) is the lowest of the low at a World War II US Army training camp. His nightclub partner-turned military superior Sgt. Vic Pucinelli (Dean Martin) is constantly on his back, and Alvin blunders from one farcical situation to another, defying all of Uncle Sam’s best efforts to turn him into a fighting man...

At War with the Army provided a historic and memorable first outing on screen for the legendary Martin-Lewis partnership. Its many highlights include Martin’s impression of Bing Crosby in a Going My Way re-creation, and Lewis, resplendent in a blonde wig, singing a torch song to Mike Kellin’s burly drill sergeant; there is also a brief early appearance for Desperate Housewives star Polly Bergen (as Martin’s girlfriend).
