The Sid James Collection DVD, 1955Availability Delivery Returns Policy
Film DescriptionTriple-bill of films starring the South African-born comedy actor and former ladies' hairdresser Sid James. In 'Time, Gentlemen, Please!' (1952), because of its high productivity and almost 100 per cent employment, the town of Hayhoe, England is expecting a visit from the Prime Minister. The 'almost' is because of Dan Dance (Eddie Byrne), an old rogue who would rather drink and philosophise than work. The Village Council decides to take measures to achieve its perfect record... In 'Orders Are Orders' (1954), a film company wants to make a science-fiction film using an army barracks for the location, and its soldiers as actors. The Commander, however, thinks this is an awful idea, and persuades the crew to use a nearby haunted house instead. 'John and Julie' (1955) follows the adventures of two small children who run off to watch the coronation of Queen Elizabeth in 1953, meeting various eccentrics along the way.
