Film Description

Historical adventure starring George Chakiris as Balam, a young king of a Mayan tribe who leads his people out of Mexico to flee a rival clan led by Hunac Ceel (Leo Gordon). When the Mayans arrive at their new home, they are confronted by a hostile Indian tribe led by Black Eagle (Yul Brynner). The Mayans succeed in capturing Black Eagle and, over time, the two rival leaders begin to earn each other's respect and agree to live in peace. However, when Balam's old nemesis turns up looking for a fight, the Indians and Mayans must join forces to repel the invaders.
