Film DescriptionSix films starring Harrison Ford. In 'Witness' (1985), when a young Amish boy (Lukas Haas) witnesses a murder in a big city train station, detective Jon Book (Ford) is given the job of protecting him. Suspecting that the murder was part of a police conspiracy, Book retreats to the small farming community where the boy lives. As time passes, and despite massive cultural differences, the detective falls in love with the boy's widowed mother (Kelly McGillis). In 'K-19 - The Widowmaker' (2002), it's 1961 and Captain Alexi Vostrikov (Ford) has just taken over command of the USSR's first nuclear submarine, K-19, from Captain Mikhail Polenin (Liam Neeson), who has been demoted to executive officer status after warning that the vessel was not yet ready for use. His fears are justified when various equipment either goes missing or never materialises, but Vostrikov is ordered by his superiors to sail into the North Atlantic for a missile test - which would alert the USA of the nuclear fire-power now in the hands of its enemy. When a leak on board threatens the nuclear payload, Vostrikov realises that if it blows it could be seen as the beginning of the Third World War and orders the crew to take it in 10 minute shifts to repair the damage - thus exposing all the men to radiation. In 'Clear and Present Danger' (1994), when his mentor Admiral James Greer (James Earl Jones) becomes gravely ill, CIA Agent Jack Ryan is appointed acting CIA Deputy Director of Intelligence. His first assignment: to investigate the murder of one of the President's friends, a prominent US businessman with secret ties to Colombian drug cartels. In 'Patriot Games' (1992), Agent Jack Ryan (Ford) prevents the assassination of a British Earl, killing one of the terrorist assassins in the process. The terrorist's brother Sean Miller (Sean Bean) vows revenge on Ryan and his family. 'Sabrina' (1995) is a remake of the 1950s Billy Wilder classic. Julia Ormond stars as Sabrina, a chauffeur's daughter who falls for David Larrabee (Greg Kinnear), the playboy son of her father's employer. But David is already betrothed to heiress Elizabeth Tyson, a relationship encouraged by David's business-minded brother Linus (Ford), who is keen to create a merger between the Larrabee family business and the Tyson electronics empire. In order to keep Sabrina out of the picture, Linus starts dating her himself, intending to drop her as soon as the merger is secure. However, after spending time in Sabrina's company, the hard-hearted Linus begins to reassess his feelings. Finally, in 'Regarding Henry' (1991), Ford stars as Henry, a successful but unscrupulous New York attorney who is shot during a hold-up at a convenience store. Although he survives, he is left with no memory, speech or motor skills. During his painful recovery, Henry decides he no longer wants to be the cynical person he was, and comes to appreciate life.
