Film Description

Based on the best selling novel of the same name, the story centres around Sarah Palfrey, a recently widowed elegant septuagenarian who moves to London to be closer to her grandson Desmond. Arriving at The Claremont Hotel, she meets the long-term residents, all in their twilight years, who have experienced their fair share of pain and loss. Her new acquaintances take a keen interest in her life. But things don’t go according to plan: her grandson fails to materialise, and her nosey neighbours start asking questions. About to resign herself to being alone, an accident leads to a chance encounter with young writer Ludovic Meyer and the pair soon embark on a wonderful new friendship that changes both of their lives.
