Film Description

Civil War veteran Nathan Algren (Tom Cruise) is assigned to train the Japanese Emperor’s troops against the country’s Samurai fighters. After being captured by the enemy, however, Algren learns to respect these warriors and their culture, and he considers switching allegiances. A complex, lavishly-shot epic, with an Oscar-nominated performance by Ken Watanabe as the Samurai’s leader.
