The enchanting tale begins in Paris in 1910, when a kind and eccentric millionairess wills her entire estate to her family of high-society cats. Overhearing her plan, Edgar, the greedy butler, kidnaps Duchess, the elegant, soft-spoken mother, and her three mischievous kittens and abandons them in the French countryside. However, a bunch of animal pals - rough and tumble alley cat Thomas O'Malley (at whose pad Scat Cat and his band of swingin' jazz cats perform the memorable 'Ev'rybody Wants To Be A Cat'), gallant mouse Roquefort, and the hilarious hounds Lafayette and Napoleon - come to their rescue.
